I put off playing FFXIV for many years, but a number of factors coincided in 2019 for me to finally give in and play it. One of those factors was the fact that I heard that the latest expansion was very well-reviewed and had a very good story.

This, uh, was an understatement. Shadowbringers is written exactly to my tastes. Its themes are basically exactly the things I like in fiction. It literally could not have been more tailored to me if it tried.

Site name comes from one of the songs on the OST, which features the main theme of the game. Background is a texture by subtlepatterns.
